Hurricane Helene has presented us with an opportunity to do things differently this time.
Before the storm, Asheville was growing rapidly, and many of us were struggling to keep control of that growth. Now, we have a chance to come together as a community and regain that control.
We know and love Asheville better than any outside business or contractor. That’s why we should be the ones to rebuild it. While we welcome support and expertise from beyond, it’s essential that we, the people who have built this city, are the ones driving the design and revitalization.
We have the experience and the passion. By hiring local, we can keep the wealth circulating within Asheville, allowing us to rebuild not just our businesses but also the hardest-hit areas—those that have supported us, and which we will continue to support in turn.
